Responsibilities
As a Driver / General Hand, your responsibilities will include:
- Safely transporting company trucks between depot, workshop, and external vendors
- Hooking and unhooking trailers, including B-double combinations
- Operating workshop tugs to move trailers within the yard
- Delivering vehicles for maintenance, repairs, and inspections
- Assisting with vehicle defect clearance and inspections
- Calibrating weigh scales on trucks and trailers
- Collecting parts and supporting logistics for workshop operations
- Assisting with general maintenance tasks in the workshop
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the workshop and parts area
Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates must have:
- A valid HC licence (MC licence preferred)
- Proven commercial driving experience
- A clean and safe driving record
- Ability to meet physical demands, including manual handling and frequent vehicle entry/exit
- Willingness to provide a driving history record
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Professional, reliable, and well-presented demeanor
