Responsibilities
As a Welder, your key duties will include:
- Performing maintenance, repairs, and structural modifications on Defence vehicles and equipment
- Conducting technical inspections and classification of components
- Interpreting detailed drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Using various welding methods such as electric arc, MIG, TIG, and oxyacetylene welding
- Setting up and operating hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment
- Assembling parts and structures through welding, bolting, or riveting
- Heat treating metal parts and components
- Finishing products through cleaning, polishing, or applying protective coatings
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- Certificate III in Engineering (Boilermaker or Fabricator)
- Proven experience as a Welder in a workshop environment
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Experience with work order processing and certification tasks
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Australian citizenship and eligibility for Defence Security Clearance
