Responsibilities
As a Welder at PepsiCo, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure optimal functionality and productivity. Key duties include:
- Setting up welding machines according to job specifications and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Performing MIG and TIG welding on steel, aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel components.
- Welding precision and close-tolerance parts and assemblies.
- Repairing, reworking, and modifying equipment and structures.
- Assisting with breakdown repairs and maintenance activities.
- Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
- Testing welding integrity and ensuring structural reliability.
- Assembling components based on engineering drawings.
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas.
- Adhering to company policies, ISO, OSHA, and safety regulations.
- Supporting plant KPIs, including production efficiency, cost reduction, and downtime minimization.
- Collaborating with team members to enhance productivity.
- Properly storing finished fabricated products.
Administration and Documentation
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and welding activities.
- Completing daily shift and maintenance reports.
- Ensuring availability of welding parts and spare components.
- Performing standby and shift duties as required.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- N3 qualification and a Trade Certificate in Welding.
- Minimum of five years’ post-apprenticeship experience in an FMCG environment.
- Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with ISO and OSHA standards.
- Ability to work shifts and respond to operational requirements.
