Salary: AUD $79,500–$81,000 per annum (base) plus superannuation, plus commission structure on service and product sales.

Our Drummoyne salon is a high-volume shop with an established client base. It has a spacious, modern fit-out and a strong team culture built on training and consistency.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced senior-level barber / men’s hairdresser to join our Drummoyne team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing the full range of men’s haircutting services on the shop floor five days per week, including all clipper work, fades, scissor cuts, layering and graduation, and beard trimming and shaping.
• Consulting with clients to assess hair type, condition, and desired style, and providing tailored recommendations.
• Delivering services to Sonder’s documented standards for haircutting, customer service, and operations.
• Recommending and advising on suitable hair care and styling products.
• Maintaining tools, workstation hygiene, and salon presentation to professional standards.
• Attending and contributing to weekly staff training sessions and completing the Sonder online education program.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members as part of the senior role.

Requirements

• Certificate III in Barbering or Hairdressing (or equivalent qualification), or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the barbering / men’s hairdressing industry.
• Demonstrated competence across all clipper haircuts, fades, and scissor cutting, including layering and graduation.
• Strong foundation in haircutting theory and fundamentals.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• A positive attitude and a commitment to ongoing learning and improvement.
• Willingness to contribute actively to Sonder’s team culture, uplifting and supporting fellow team members with a mindset of continuous personal and professional development.
• Full Australian working rights, or eligibility to work in Australia.
