Responsibilities
As a Welding Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and compliance of welding operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing welding of static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, skids, tanks, and structures
- Preparing WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and PQR (Procedure Qualification Record) as per ASME codes and customer standards
- Training and qualifying welders to meet project requirements
- Coordinating with customers and ASME Authorized Inspectors on welding-related matters
- Developing and implementing best practices to optimize welding processes
- Estimating and issuing material requisitions (MR) for welding consumables
- Monitoring and controlling welder productivity
- Managing audits and supporting customer visits
- Providing technical support during the bidding stage
- Ensuring welding activities meet customer requirements efficiently in terms of cost and time
- Resolving welding-related issues during project execution
- Collaborating with customers and suppliers to address technical challenges
- Performing additional welding engineering tasks as assigned by management
Requirements
Candidates applying for this role should meet the following criteria:
- M.Tech degree in a relevant engineering field
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in welding engineering
- Strong experience with ASME codes and welding standards
- Proven experience in handling industrial and fabrication projects
