Job Overview
- Position: Welder (TIG)
- Location: Concord, Ontario, Canada
- Pay Rate: Up to $29 per hour (based on experience)
- Shift Timings:
- Monday – Thursday: 06:30 AM – 03:30 PM
- Friday: 06:30 AM – 02:30 PM
Responsibilities
As a TIG Welder, you will play a critical role in fabrication and assembly processes. Your key duties include:
- Fabricating and assembling stainless steel components for structural and industrial applications
- Interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Performing TIG welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
- Positioning and securing materials using precision measuring tools
- Tack-welding and assembling components according to specifications
- Cutting materials using saws, shears, and plasma cutting equipment
- Inspecting welds using testing methods such as hydrostatic testing and X-ray analysis
- Measuring tolerances with micrometers and other precision instruments
- Grinding, finishing, and polishing metal surfaces
- Developing jigs and fixtures for fabrication processes
- Installing, repairing, or modifying fabricated components
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder, especially with stainless steel
- Strong fitting skills (mandatory)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Solid understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy, and fabrication processes
- Familiarity with measuring tools and quality inspection methods
- Ability to perform welding in multiple positions
