Responsibilities
As a Welder/Pipefitter, you will perform advanced welding and fabrication tasks in both shop and field environments. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing journeyman-level SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding and metal fabrication.
- Executing welding, cutting, and repair work in accordance with project regulations and industry standards.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
- Fabricating metal components based on specifications or customer samples.
- Utilizing oxygen/acetylene, carbon arc, and plasma cutting equipment.
- Conducting repairs, dismantling assemblies, and shaping materials as required.
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA, AFOSHA, ES&H, and fire safety regulations.
- Assisting in training and mentoring subordinate welders.
- Supporting welding qualification programs and test plate inspections.
- Maintaining adherence to internal operating procedures and quality standards.
- Using power tools, cranes, drills, and other industrial equipment safely and effectively.
- Providing shop and field support in deployed locations.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- AWS Welding Certification or military equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a weld shop.
- At least one (1) year of welding inspection experience.
- Qualification as a Journeyman Welder.
- Experience with power tools, saws, cranes, and drills.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Qatar Residency Visa.
- Eligibility to meet USCENTCOM deployment policy requirements.
- Willingness to travel extensively (100%) to deployed locations.
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions, including high temperatures and dust.
- Capability to endure long hours in hazardous environments.
- Must possess and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Valid U.S. Passport (preferred).
