Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, graders, wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks, and cranes for construction, demolition, and material handling tasks.
- Conduct daily inspections at the start of each shift to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition and complete safety checklists.
- Perform basic maintenance duties, including checking fluid levels, lubricating parts, greasing components, and verifying safety features.
- Report equipment defects or operational issues to supervisors and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Strictly follow workplace safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Operate machinery with careful attention to the safety of coworkers and the public.
- Collaborate with site supervisors to understand project requirements and select the appropriate equipment.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain smooth and efficient worksite operations.
- Provide regular updates on work progress and promptly address operational challenges.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Machine Operator with a valid operator’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment and understand their controls.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards within construction and industrial environments.
- Physical strength and stamina with the ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to operate a Long Boom with GPS for rock placing is required.
