Responsibilities
Farm Workers play an important role in crop production and greenhouse operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops in greenhouse environments
- Applying fertilizers and spraying crops when necessary
- Monitoring water levels, temperature, and lighting conditions for optimal crop growth
- Harvesting vegetables and fruits by hand and preparing them for distribution
- Grading fruits and vegetables according to size, color, shape, and quality
- Sorting and packaging agricultural products for market readiness
- Removing suckers and water sprouts manually from plants
- Performing greenhouse cleaning and maintaining a clean work environment
- Detecting diseases or health problems in crops and reporting them when necessary
- Loading, unloading, and transferring crates, farm supplies, and produce
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment when required
Requirements
Applicants interested in this position should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 3 months of agricultural harvesting experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Capability to lift and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Willingness to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Authorization to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with a valid work permit)
