Responsibilities

As a Data Center Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining server and network equipment
  • Performing structured cabling, including copper and fiber optic installations
  • Executing hardware deployments, upgrades, and decommissioning tasks
  • Monitoring environmental systems such as power, cooling, and security
  • Responding to incidents and performing technical troubleshooting
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and tracking IT assets
  • Collaborating with engineering and operations teams to ensure efficiency
  • Supporting capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in data center operations
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems such as Cat6/6a and fiber (OM3/OM4/OS2)
  • Experience with rack and stack operations in server environments
  • Understanding of power distribution systems and UPS infrastructure
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work in physically demanding environments
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
