Responsibilities
The Science Teacher will play a key role in delivering engaging and effective lessons, supporting student growth, and contributing to the school’s inclusive community. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching Science to Middle School Secondaire students, with the possibility of teaching Chemistry in High School.
- Acting as a homeroom advisor, supporting student wellbeing and personal development.
- Creating a caring, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
- Promoting the school’s mission and RISE values in daily teaching and interactions.
- Engaging and motivating students of all abilities through innovative and inquiry-based teaching.
- Collaborating with colleagues to harmonize lessons across grade levels.
- Assessing student progress, maintaining records in the online grade book, and preparing reports according to school guidelines.
- Utilizing and developing existing teaching resources to enhance Science lessons.
- Carrying out additional duties as assigned to support school operations and student development.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
- Relevant Science qualification and a recognized teaching qualification.
- Master’s degree in pedagogy or a related field is preferred.
- Experience teaching in a Middle School setting, ideally in an international school environment.
- Ability to teach students whose first language may not be English.
- Experience supporting students with diagnosed learning differences.
- Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance learning.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage classroom responsibilities effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
