Responsibilities
The Plant Operator is responsible for maintaining hotel facilities and responding to both guest and operational needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to guest repair requests and resolving maintenance issues professionally.
- Performing preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room systems.
- Inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, testing, and troubleshooting equipment and machinery.
- Operating and identifying shut-off valves for utilities and building systems.
- Maintaining maintenance inventory and requisitioning parts and supplies.
- Communicating daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved systems.
- Performing general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and minor repairs.
- Replacing light bulbs, A/C filters, electrical switches, outlets, and guestroom items.
- Programming TVs and maintaining engineering-related inventories.
- Using Lockout/Tagout procedures before performing maintenance work.
- Maintaining interior and exterior landscaping systems, including sprinklers.
- Following safety, security, and company policies at all times.
Requirements
Candidates for the Plant Operator position should meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting.
- Availability to work full-time on-site.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, bending, and carrying equipment.
