Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment in the client’s home, including light housekeeping, dishwashing, and laundry
- Assist clients with personal care activities such as hygiene, dressing, grooming, ambulation, eating, and physical transfers
- Provide nutritional support as outlined in the client’s Plan of Care
- Deliver non-medical care services in accordance with individualized care plans
- Observe and promptly report any changes in the client’s condition
- Accurately document caregiving services using the Assisting Hands Home Care reporting system
- Demonstrate competence in executing assigned care plans
- Comply with infection control policies, including proper handwashing per CDC guidelines
- Follow all agency policies, procedures, and caregiver training requirements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One (1) year of caregiving experience in a home care or long-term care setting preferred
- Ability to perform essential caregiving duties and follow care plan instructions
- Must maintain a safe and sanitary environment for clients
- Completion of a criminal background check through the California Department of Social Services
- Must be listed on the Home Care Aide Registry or able to submit an online application
- Entry-level caregiver training required (provided by Assisting Hands Home Care)
- Availability for shifts based on client assignments (24/7 scheduling available)
