Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi items, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
- Develop innovative menu items aligned with customer preferences and current trends
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station at all times
- Monitor and manage inventory, ensuring ingredient freshness and minimizing waste
- Train and guide junior staff in sushi preparation techniques
- Assist with catering services and special events when required
- Follow strict food safety, sanitation, and health regulation guidelines
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in sushi preparation or Japanese culinary cuisine
- Strong knife handling skills and knowledge of sushi-specific preparation techniques
- Experience in menu planning and food preparation in restaurant or catering settings
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in dietary or kitchen operations is an advantage
- Creativity, attention to detail, and passion for high-quality culinary work
