Responsibilities
The Plumber will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing systems to ensure smooth operations. Key duties include:
1. Maintenance (Preventive & Breakdown) – 50%
- Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure-test pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
- Maintain heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to plumbing codes.
- Diagnose plumbing malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
- Install and repair valves, sinks, water heaters, commodes, and related equipment.
- Complete work orders efficiently and inspect finished jobs for quality.
- Detect repair needs in buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Follow safety procedures while performing duties such as lifting and climbing.
- Coordinate with supervisors and site personnel to complete projects.
- Ensure work areas are clean and safe upon task completion.
2. Parts Management and Record Keeping – 10%
- Maintain service records, manuals, and logbooks.
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and emergency spare parts.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.
3. Teamwork, Coordination, and Communication – 10%
- Collaborate with team members to support workplace activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
- Demonstrate strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and maintenance needs.
4. HSE Compliance and Punctuality – 10%
- Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain punctuality, hygiene, and compliance with workplace regulations.
5. Special Assignments – 20%
- Perform special tasks assigned by the line manager.
- Assist in duties beyond primary expertise when required.
- Complete assigned projects within established timelines.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Education: Secondary School Certificate or High School Diploma (preferred).
- Professional Qualification: Diploma in Plumbing or MEP (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of overall experience, including at least 3 years in maintenance.
- Training: Industry experience supplemented with on-the-job training.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks with good hand-eye coordination.
