Responsibilities
As an Accounts Admin / Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:
Sales & Invoicing
- Preparing and issuing accurate customer invoices
- Monitoring outstanding payments and assisting with credit control
- Responding to account-related queries
Xero & Reconciliation
- Reconciling bank transactions within Xero
- Allocating income and expenses to correct accounts
- Maintaining clean and up-to-date financial records
Purchasing & Payments
- Processing supplier invoices and maintaining purchase records
- Scheduling and completing supplier payments
- Ensuring proper cost allocation
Payroll & Expenses
- Supporting payroll processing or liaising with providers
- Managing staff expenses and company card transactions
- Recording all financial entries accurately in Xero
VAT & Compliance
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns or assisting accountants
- Maintaining compliance with HMRC requirements
- Keeping documentation audit-ready
Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should have:
- Proven experience using Xero (essential)
- Background in bookkeeping or accounts administration
- Strong understanding of financial processes and record-keeping
- Ability to manage workload independently
- Professional written communication skills
